In the Builder you add the blocks of your interview, connect them to each other and draw the path respondents will follow. It’s where every new campaign starts, and where you come back whenever you need to change the structure of an existing interview.

Creating a campaign

1

Open the Dashboard

After logging in you land on the main Dashboard. If you don’t have any campaigns yet, the screen invites you to create one right away.
2

Click New campaign

You get the What do you want to build? screen. There are two ways forward, and only two.
3

Describe the study, or start from scratch

Describe your study to the AI, attaching a PDF or DOCX brief if you have one, and it drafts the interview for you. Or choose Start from scratch and build it block by block.
4

Enter the Builder

Either way you land in the Builder: with the canvas already populated by the AI, or with an empty canvas ready for your blocks.
The AI panel in the Builder is called Exoid AI and is marked BETA. See AI Interview Builder.

Adding blocks

There are two ways to add a question to the canvas. The difference is in how connections are handled.
The fast, linear way. The button opens a menu with the available question types: the block is inserted in sequence and connected automatically to the existing flow.Use it when you’re building a linear path and want to move quickly.

Positioning on the canvas

You can move each block freely with drag & drop. To tidy things up, use Auto resize in the canvas bar: it aligns branches and spacing to make the flow readable, without touching your logic.

Connecting blocks

Every block has an exit point at the bottom and an entry point at the top. Drag the connector from the source block to the target block: the connection defines the interview path.

Connecting with “Go To”

The Go To action is available only inside conditions. When you set it, the system creates the connection between blocks automatically and keeps logic and flow structure in two-way sync. So a block has two possible exits: the connector you drew by hand, and the one a condition takes over when it matches.

Wait timer for questions with media

For questions with images or video you can set Wait before advancing: the participant has to stay on the question for the time you set before they can move on. It’s essential for concept tests and advertising evaluations. The setting lives in the question panel, next to the other block options.

Deleting a block

You can remove a block at any time, in two ways:
  • Trash icon — select the block: the contextual toolbar appears on the left edge. Click the trash icon and the block is removed from the canvas.
  • Keyboard — select the block and press Del (Windows) or Delete (Mac).
Deletion is immediate and leaves the logic of other nodes untouched. The exception is a block that was part of an active logic path: then you have to reconnect the branches it leaves open.

The canvas bar

The bar sits over the canvas. From left to right:

Exporting and importing the structure

Export survey takes the interview as it is right now — blocks, connections and logic — and downloads it. Import survey does the opposite: it loads that file and rebuilds the whole structure on the canvas. Use the pair to reuse an interview you’ve already built in another campaign, or to keep a copy of a structure outside the platform before you make big changes.

Survey history

Survey history keeps the versions of the interview as you edit it, so you can see what changed and go back to an earlier state.

Before publishing: unconnected nodes

When you publish your study, the system automatically checks that all questions are connected in the flow.
If a question isn’t connected to any node you’ll see the warning Unconnected nodes — A question is not connected and will not appear in your survey. The block exists in the builder but isn’t reachable: respondents won’t see it, but it will still show up in the results. Review the interview and connect or delete the isolated block before publishing.
