# Sharing the link

> Generate your study's public URL and spread it across your organization's owned channels.

Self-distribution lets you spread your study across your organization's own channels, without going through an external panel. It's the right route when the sample you need is already in your contact base: customers, newsletter subscribers, community members, colleagues.

<Info>
  Your study must be Live. If it is still in **Draft** respondents cannot access it: publish it first with the Publish button in the top right. See [Publishing your study](/en/distribute/publishing).
</Info>

## Where the link lives

The Share step of a campaign opens on the **Survey performance** screen. At the top sit two boxes, **Copy survey link** and **Hire participants**. Below them a time filter — 7, 30 or 90 days, or the whole period — drives the metrics: average time spent, total responses with the split between Panel and Invites, response rate, daily response trends and peak hours.

## Copying the link

<Steps>
  <Step title="Click Copy survey link">
    The button generates the public URL of the interview.
  </Step>

  <Step title="Wait for confirmation">
    A notification confirms the link has been copied to your clipboard.
  </Step>

  <Step title="Spread the link">
    Paste the URL into your organization's owned channels.
  </Step>
</Steps>

<Note>
  **Copy survey link** only copies the URL: no panel opens. Exoid has no interface for embed codes, QR codes or link parameters, so everything you do with the link happens outside the platform.
</Note>

## Where to share it

## Survey Player and draft recovery

While the interview is in progress, Exoid saves the answers in the respondent's browser. If the session is interrupted, the respondent picks up from where they left off.

When they come back, the system restores:

* the current page
* the answers already entered
* the interview progress

<Note>
  Session recovery happens automatically, but it requires the **same browser and the same device** used to start the interview.
</Note>

### When it makes a difference

Recovery matters most in:

* long interviews
* B2B studies
* multi-session product tests
* research spread across several days
